Background
For over 30 years, Xtratherm was a market leader in the construction industry across the UK and Ireland. In 2016 they became part of the Unilin family – Unilin Insulation is the second largest manufacturer of PIR boards in Europe.
The Problem
Xtratherm had around 6 websites that were branded as Xtratherm, Cavitytherm and Ballytherm. These sites did not match the brand, messaging or functionality required for a member of the Unilin family. The 6 sites were speread across 6 individual sites with no correlation in content or funtion.
what we did
Wibble undertook the huge task of concept design, web development and a full content migration plan. This was a multi-agency project and we collaborated with Ripple Design, Part Three Digital and Code Fixer to ensure all client expectations were met.
Our design team work on concept creation, information architecture, content mapping and site structure long before a design app was touched. We created thorough and detailed concepts for mobile and desktop devices with particular attention to UI and UX – all while adhering to Unilin’s brand guidelines.
Our development process was a large undertaking with site speed, technical SEO, DNS migrations, content migration, database management and thousands of other elements all to be considered. The site is built using a custom WordPress multisite set up, allowing for the broadcasting of all content across multiple sites at once.
the results
Wibble produced a huge WordPress multisite for the project allowing the client to manage two localised sites for target audiences. The closure of six websites into two means the management of the sites is easier and less intensive.
The sites are faster with particular attention paid to web accessibility and technical SEO – web services that Wibble are known specialists in.
We manage and support the website with our dedicated support team taking care of all necessary WordPress and plugin updates as part of our web support package.
