Background
The Ring of Gullion Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is a unique geological landform, unparalleled elsewhere in Ireland or the UK and was the first ring dyke in the world to be geologically mapped.
The previous site was in need of a redesign and redevelopment and the web project went out to public tender for this site and three other sister sites – a huge project that we were delighted to win.
The Problem
Wibble had designed and built their previous award winning website and it had successfully been online and running for around 8 years – a huge amount of time for a working website. The site had become harder to maintain, built using the WordPress classic editor, the scale and management of content in the site was becoming an issue and the aesthetics needed re-worked.
what we did
Every possible element of a large web design and web development project were undertaken in this huge project. We made the decision that a WordPress multisite was the best solution to provide all the necessary management tools and future proof management for the client.
We carried out content mapping exercises, information architecture, content reviews, site structure and branding application – just to name a few items we undertook for the group. We built every element from scratch and using modern development techniques, we have given the client infinite layout options and control.
the results
Wibble delivered a truly phenomenal web design project in a very short period of time. Brand consistency across all four sites was a thought out and planned exercise and demonstrates the capabilities of Wibble – an award winning web design and development studio based in Belfast but working with clients all across the Island of Ireland.
All four web sites are fully under the content control of the client with items being added, moved, edited and adjusted on a daily basis with no input from Wibble – this is one of the best parts of this project, we gave the client full autonomy to manage their web design and web development project without having to worry about costly support fees.
