Louisa – wibble's newest web support agent

Hi, I’m Louisa – wibble’s newest web support agent

I joined the Wibble team in February 2026 as a part-time web support agent while finishing my BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in IT. My first few months have involved juggling college deadlines, client websites and learning the ins and outs of WordPress management and support. However, Wibble was not completely new to me. I had already spent some time with the team during work experience in 2024, but returning this year felt like a bit of a full-circle moment.

Since then, I’ve really enjoyed getting to know the day-to-day side of web support. Every week brings something new to learn. That may be a new WordPress feature, helping to maintain client websites or picking up new technical skills along the way. It’s given me a great insight into how our websites are maintained behind the scenes and made me even more passionate about developing my skills as I grow into my role.

A bit about me

My interest in web development started during a Computer Science GCSE project. My very first website was all about conspiracy theories, true crime cases and unsolved mysteries I had researched – I think that says a lot about my hobbies and interests. I found then that I really enjoyed problem solving and understanding how things worked behind the scenes. So, when work experience came around, a web development agency was the obvious choice – and where better than one of the best in Ireland?

Not long after, I started studying IT in college where I got to try a bit of everything from programming and web development to databases, networking and IT management and support. I definitely found myself more drawn to anything where I could be creative, solve problems and see the end result of my work.

When I’m not staring at screens, I’ve recently started playing rugby again after a few years away, which has been a fun (and painful) way to spend my evenings. I also love creative hobbies like painting and drawing, though I am definitely guilty of starting more projects than I actually finish. Outside of that, I love planning my next trip or concert (… or inevitably falling down a true crime rabbit hole).

Backup, update, test, repeat

One of the main things I’ve been getting to grips with since joining Wibble is our Wibble Support Package (WSP). It’s given me the chance to work directly with live websites and become familiar with the process of keeping them updated and running smoothly.

A lot of my day revolves around one simple (but important!) process: backing up websites, carrying out essential updates and testing everything carefully afterwards.

Every WSP is a chance to learn something new, whether it’s learning about a new WordPress plugin, troubleshooting an unexpected problem or simply becoming more confident with the tools we use everyday (thanks to Tony!).

Finding my feet in web support

A few months in, I’m definitely starting to feel more at home with the work I’m doing. Things that felt completely new when I started are becoming part of my normal routine, and I’m getting more confident figuring things out for myself when something unexpected comes up.

One thing I learned pretty quickly is that working with websites involves a lot of problem solving. Sometimes the answer is straightforward and other times it means testing a few things or asking someone for a second opinion. I’m still learning all the time, but I’m much more comfortable with that now than I was when I first started.

There’s still plenty to learn (and there probably always will be in web) but that’s one of the things I’ve enjoyed most so far. Every week seems to bring something I haven’t come across before.

Looking ahead

Working with live websites has made me more confident and helped me get to grips with WordPress in a way I couldn’t have from studying alone. I’m especially interested in front-end development and that point where a design starts to take shape and become a working website. Going forward, I’d like to deepen my knowledge and develop my skills in my support work and continue building confidence.

I’ll also be continuing my studies part-time at Ulster University alongside working at Wibble, so there will definitely be plenty of learning ahead! I’ve already learned a lot since joining the team, but probably the biggest thing I’ve realised is just how much more there is to learn. Luckily for me, I’m surrounded by people who know their stuff and are always happy to help if I’m a little stuck.
