Client: Newry, Mourne and Down District Council
The previous site was not mobile friendly and slow to load. The content management system was out-dated and hard to use. Visitors were low and reflected poorly on the amazing area of outstanding natural beauty.
We won the public tender for this project and spent around three months on its development and launch. We produced a mobile friendly and accessible site. It highlights news, galleries and events taking place in the AONB.
We created an easy to use control panel that has encouraged the team to keep it up to date.
We manage the security and hosting to ensure the site is secure and always online.
We are delighted with the work Wibble has carried out on revamping our site. The traffic has exceeded our own ambitious targets! We wanted to double it in the first year, and double it again by year four – we have met those targets already! It’s not all about the numbers though; we have had more success in people engaging with us whether it be through our events, training, schools projects and volunteering. We have also had more media attention, and this is in part through the website being more social media friendly.
We have also seen a sharp increase in people using our site on their mobile which again is great for engagement with twitter and facebook.
For us it is a great way to keep our stakeholders up-to-date too. The projects update feature is great, and again is fantastic for community engagement. When people see things happening they are more likely to engage with us. Our staff find the backend very easy to use and again are more likely to keep the site updated.
What’s great with this website too is that Paudie, the project manager with Wibble, has been there from day one, tweaking and adding to the site.
On an average month, the site receives 24,000+ sessions compared to 900 previously.
We won a DANI award in Not for Profit category.
